1. No abiti bianchi. Assolutamente vietato. Neppure beige, avorio, grigio perla.
3. No jeans. No, no e ancora no.
4. No tacchi con plateau esagerati e no sneakers.
5. No borse giganti.

Buon martedì a tutti voi!

What to wear and what not to wear to a wedding

The season of ceremonies officially started in April… Who does not have a baptism, a first communion, a confirmation or a wedding to go? As for me I’ going to attend a wedding soon, I can’t wait! I already started to read up on current trends and looking for the perfect wedding guest outfit for me. I couldn’t have a better opportunity this weekend, when I was invited to Venice to attend the Nicole Spose fashion show. Here’s what I learned thanks to this wonderful experience!

5 tips on how to dress at a wedding in April

1. Yes to colors, pastel or bright (but not fluorescent), to black, which has now been cleared through customs, and even the black and white together. Solid or patterned.
2. Yes to dresses, short for the day, long preferably only from late afternoon to evening. Finding the right dress for a wedding in April may prove difficult: not yet hot enough to choose a summer dress and there is always the risk of rain right around the corner. As for the socks, the etiquette says that in church you should always wear the tights, but I do not agree. If you wear pumps you can put them, but surely if you wear peep toe shoes or if you even risk with sandals, socks are strictly prohibited.
3. Yes the stole (if time permits), blazer, elegant cropped jacket and long duster, to cover the back when inside the church. We must remember that we are in April and probably there won’t be as much heat as we would like.
4. Yes to jewelry. If you want to adorn your head with a wreath or a clasp, then avoid necklace, and vice versa. Never leave your wrists “uncovered”, always at least a bracelet and a watch. Pay attention to the amount and size of the rings.
5. Yes the hat, but be careful. You will not want to look like the Queen Elizabeth!

5 tips on what not to ever wear to a wedding

1. No white dressed. Absolutely not. Even beige, ivory, pearl gray is  According to tradition, the white dress is reserved for the bride, unless it is not his will that the witnesses and the bridesmaids are dressed in light colors.
2. No clothes that are too low-cut, short or provocative, shorts, slits, daring transparencies. I find it in bad taste to dress well for a wedding. None of us would ever want to shame the bride in her best day.
3. No jeans. I happened to see invited to weddings dressed in skinny jeans and blazer. No, no and again no.
4. No exaggerated heels with plateau and no sneakers. Even for shoes, sobriety first.
5. No giant bags. Shopper, folders and Mary Poppins bags are meant for work, for a wedding is better to choose a clutch or a mini shoulder bag.

I hope my tips on how to dress and what to never wear a wedding there may be useful! Let me know in the comments if you have any advice for the wedding I attend in June!
I leave you with the photos of my outfit: a long dress by Nicole Spose, chosen and worn last Saturday in Venice along with nude sandals and shoulder bag by Valentino… Happy Tuesday to you all!
