Come indossare il cappello. Ultimo giorno di sfilate alla Milano Moda Uomo 2016, ultima notte all’Hotel Manin e ultimo look, molto maschile. Ancora un total black, ma questa volta giocato sui richiami al giallo ocra. Cappotto lungo con cintura annodata sulla vita, indossato su camicia bianca e pantaloni di pelle. Come accessori, stringate in vernice con suola bi-color, piccola cartella in cuoio e, infine, il vero protagonista di questo look: un vistoso cappello a falda larga con la fascia che riprende perfettamente i toni degli altri accessori. Questo l’outfit indossato per le sfilate di Giorgio Armani e Dirk Bikkembergs, prima di salutare Milano e tornare nella mia Torino.

Come indossare il cappello? 4 consigli

Scegliere, abbinare e indossare un cappello non è la cosa più facile del mondo. Molto dipende dalla forma della testa, dalla dimensione della fronte e dallo stile che si ha o che si vuole avere. Ecco 4 consigli per aiutarti a indossare il cappello e valorizzare il tuo portamento!

1. I capelli si devono vedere al di sotto del cappello.
A seconda che siano corti o lunghi, lisci o ricci, dovete scegliere il modello giusto.
– I capelli ricci sono quelli che meno si accompagnano ai cappelli: stanno bene solo con un cappello a tesa larga, che conferisce un aspetto da diva, oppure con un un basco portato laterale. Al massimo con un berretto di lana con pon pon. Astuzia: lisciate le radici per evitare l’effetto schiacciamento.
– I capelli medio-corti (che non superano le orecchie) e leggermente mossi o lisci stanno bene la coppola, la cloche e il cappello stile Borsalino. No al classico berretto, per evitare di aggiungere volume nella zona alta della testa. Astuzia: con la cloche, provate a ricreare l’hair-style a onde tipico degli anni ’30, mentre se vi piace il Borsalino, provate il caschetto pari con la frangia anni ’40.
– I capelli lunghi e mediamente lisci stanno bene con tutto: beanie, berretti, coppole, cappelli e colbacchi. Astuzia: per evitare che i capelli si arruffino sotto al colbacco, raccoglieteli in una coda di cavallo bassa.
– Discorso a parte se, come me, avete la frangia. I problemi sono molteplici: si appiattisce, perde di volume rischiando di finirvi negli occhi. Astuzia: scegliete un cappello a falda larga, ma cercate di non calarlo troppo sulla fronte. Oppure optate per una coppola o un basco, che meno infastidiranno la vostra frangia.

2. La scelta della misura del cappello.
E’ importante capire bene la misura della vostra testa. Un cappello troppo grande sarà troppo calato sul viso, viceversa, uno troppo piccolo finisce che si poggia solo sulla sommità della testa: in entrambi i casi il risultato è decisamente poco fashion. Astuzia: misura con un metro da sarta la circonferenza della testa un centimetro circa sopra l’orecchio.

3. L’acquisto.
Vi consiglio di acquistare il vostro cappello in un negozio specializzato. Secondo me, è un accessorio importante che deve essere di qualità. In più se tenuto bene, senza essere schiacciato, dura veramente decenni. Altrimenti, se volete solo togliervi lo sfizio per una stagione oppure provare all’interno dei vostri look se vi piace, andate sul low cost: le grandi catene sono piene di cappelli a prezzi veramente ridotti. Astuzia: i negozi vintage sono la miniera d’oro dei cappelli.

4. Gli abbinamenti.
Il cappello si abbina praticamente su tutto, è più facile di quanto sembri a chi non l’ha mai portato. Ecco alcuni esempi:
– il beanie puoi abbinarlo al tuo ultimo paio di scarpe da ginnastica, a un paio di leggins e a un cappotto lungo (QUI la mia idea outfit).
– il cappello stile Borsalino si adatta sia a look dal sapore maschile (camicia bianca, giacca di pelle oppure blazer, stringate) sia a mini abiti o mini gonne (QUI la mia idea outfit).
– una cloche o un cappello a tesa larga rende sexy un look serioso da ufficio (gonna al ginocchio, balzer, stivaletti alla caviglia: QUI la mia idea outfit).

The way to wear your hat

Last day of fashion shows at Milan Fashion Week 2016, last night at the Hotel Manin and last outfit, very mannish. Another all black look, but this time played with yellow ocher details. A long coat with belt worn over a white shirt and leather pants. As accessories, lace-up shoes, small leather folder and, finally, the real star of this look: a striking wide-brim hat whose straw resumes perfectly the tone of the other accessories. This is the outfit I wore for fashion shows of Giorgio Armani and Dirk Bikkembergs, before saying goodbye to Milan and come back to my Turin.

Buy, pair and wear a hat is not the easiest thing in the world. Much depends on the shape of the head, the size of the forehead and the style you have or who you want to have. Here are 4 tips to help you wear your hat and enhance your posture!

1. Hair must be seen beneath the hat.
Depending on whether they are long or short, straight or curly, you have to choose the right model.
– Curly hair are those who least accompany hats: they look good only with a wide-brim hat, which gives it a diva look, or a beret. At least with a wool cap with pompoms. My tip: straighten your roots.
– Medium-short (not exceeding the ears) slightly wavy or straight hair look good with flat cap, cloche hat and fedora. No classic cap, to avoid adding volume on the top of the head. My tip: with the cloche, try to recreate the hair-style with waves typical of the ’30s.
– Long and smooth hair look good with everything: beanie, hats, caps, fedora and fur hats. My tip: to prevent the hair from frizzing, braid them or do a ponytail.
– Separate discussion if, like me, you have the fringe. The problems are many: it flattens, loses volume threatening to come into your eye. My tip: choose a wide-brim hat, but try not to drop it on your forehead too much. Or opt for a cap or a beret, that less annoy your fringe.

2. Size matters.
It’s important to measure your head. A too large hat will be too dropped on the face, vice versa, a too small one will stay only on the top of the head: in both cases the result is decidedly not fashionable. My tip: measure with a tape measure the circumference of the head a centimeter above the ear.

3. Where to buy.
I recommend you buy your hat in a specialized boutique. In my opinion, it is an important accessory that must be of good quality. If you keep it well, you can wear it for decades. Otherwise, if you just want to take away the whim for a season or try within your look if you like, go for a low cost hat: department store are full of hats at very reduced prices. My tip: vintage shops are the gold mine of hats.

4. The pairings.
The hat goes well with just about everything, it’s easier than it seems at those who have not ever wore one yet. Here are some examples:
– A beanie can be paired with sneakers, leggings and a long coat (HERE my outfit idea).
– A fedora is appropriate for both mannish style look (white shirt, leather jacket or blazer, lace-up shoes) and with a mini dress or mini skirts (HERE my outfit idea).
– A cloche or a wide-brim add style to a classic office look (knee-length skirt, balzer, ankle boots: HERE my outfit idea).
