Il nostro hotel, Il Divan Istanbul, si trovava nel pieno centro di Taksim, nella zona europea della città. Un hotel in cui tutto viene curato nei minimi dettagli: fiori colorati nella hall, lampadari rossi giganti, finiture in legno, una spa e un hammam in cui coccolarsi dopo una giornata da turisti, la nostra junior suite in grado di farti sentire a casa, colazione internazionale e un dehor con tendoni bianchi in cui iniziare la giornata con la giusta dose di energia.

Our hotel, The Divan Istanbul, was located in the center of Taksim, in the European side of the city. An hotel where everything is studied in each single detail: colorful flowers in the lobby, red giant chandeliers, wood trim, a spa and a hammam in which pamper yourself after a day’s sightseeing, a junior suites able to make you feel at home, international breakfast served in the outdoor area with white tents, where start the day with the right energy.

Prima tappa della giornata il Gran Bazaar: uno dei posti che più mi sono rimasti nel cuore. Le lanterne, i piatti decorati, i quadri con lo skyline della città, le spezie, i gioielli, le ciabatte stampate. Un’atmosfera magica, che non può fare a meno di conquistare tutti i suoi visitatori.

First stop of the day was the Gran Bazaar, one of the places that most conquered my heart. Lanterns, decorated dishes, paintings with the city skyline, spices, jewelery, printed slipper. The most magical atmosphere I have ever felt.

Dopo aver visitato il Gran Bazaar siamo scesi lungo una vietta e siamo arrivati nella piazza della Moschea Nuova, lo Yeni Cami, con le sue fontane e i suoi bellissimi giardini di fiori. Un luogo che non mi era nuovo: proprio nel cortile interno, infatti, è stata scattata la mia foto per l’editoriale di Swarovski. In questa zona ci sono tantissimi baracchini che vendono street food: una perfetta soluzione per pranzare continuando a visitare. La nostra scelta è ricaduta sul famosissimo panino con pesce: una prelibatezza!

After visiting the Grand Bazaar walked down an alley and arrived in the square of the New Mosque, the Yeni Cami, with its fountains and beautiful flower gardens. A place that wasn’t new to me: right in the courtyard, we shot the photo for the Swarovski editorial, in May. In this area there are lots of stalls selling street food: a perfect solution for lunch time while visiting. Our choice felt on the famous sandwich with fish: it was so delicious!

Dopo lo Yeni Cami ci siamo spostati verso la zona di Hagia Sofia o Santa Sofia. Difficile descrivere la magia che si respira al suo interno. Prima cattedrale bizantina, ortodossa, cattolica, poi moschea, oggi museo. Un mix di stili, storie ed epoche diverse che convivono insieme in quello che è sicuramente uno dei miei monumenti preferiti della città.

After the Yeni Cami we moved to the area of Hagia Sophia. Hard to describe the magic that reigns inside. First Byzantine cathedral, Orthodox, Catholic, then a mosque, now a museum. A mix of styles, stories and eras that live together in what is definitely one of my favorite monuments of the city.

Non credo di aver mai visto tanti gatti come a Istanbul. Tra tutti, uno mi ha conquistata più degli altri. Che certi amori nascono così, quando meno te lo aspetti. Lui, questo micio bianco e nero. Due mesi appena, ma una vocina così forte che era impossibile non accorgersi di lui. Si era perso, cercava la sua mamma e ha scelto noi come suoi nuovi amici. Perché quando si dice che sono loro e sono loro a scegliere noi è proprio così. Noi che non avremmo più voluto lasciarlo e, se la sua mamma non lo avesse ritrovato solo pochi minuti dopo, forse sarebbe diventato il nuovo fratellino di Kiki. Chissà la sua faccia, lei così abituata ad essere sempre il centro delle attenzioni di tutti, una volta che se lo fosse ritrovata davanti.

I do not think I’ve ever seen so many cats as in Istanbul. Among all, one won me more than others. He’s this black and white cat. Just two months, but a voice so loud that it was impossible not to notice. How cute is he?

Dopo Santa Sofia ci siamo spostati poco più in là, sulla stessa piazza, verso la Moschea Blu.
Per la mia prima giornata da turista ho scelto di indossare un abito bianco lungo fino ai piedi, zaino con stampa atzeca, sneakers e tanti gioielli dorati. In particolare questi anelli Maymoma con cristalli Swarovski sono diventati il mio must have di ogni look: vi racconto tutti i dettagli QUI.

After Santa Sofia we moved a little farther on, in the same square, towards the Blue Mosque.
For my first day as a tourist I chose to wear a long white dress, backpack with atzec prints, sneakers and many golden jewels. In particular, these rings are from Maymoma with Swarovski crystals have become one of my latest obsession. You can find all the details HERE.

Alla sera ci siamo spostati nella zona del Ponte sul Bosforo che separa l’Occidente dall’Oriente. Qui abbiamo trovato una piccola Moschea illuminata, acceso una lanterna, espresso un desiderio e cenato al Reina. Ero stata in questo ristorante due mesi fa con Swarovski e non vedevo l’ora di ritornarci insieme a lui.

In the evening we moved into the area of the Bosphorus Bridge that separates the West from the East. Here we found a small mosque, lit a lantern, made a wish and had dinner at the Reina. I had been to this restaurant two months ago with Swarovski and I could not wait to come back with him.
