Changing seasons: how to organize the closet

Transitioning seasons is the most difficult time to keep the closet organized and, above all, ordered. It isn’t yet warm enough to store away light coats, down jackets, wool sweaters and tights. But there are days when you can go out even with only a leather jacket on. Here are some ideas to organize the closet for the changing season. I found myself too having to deal with this problem and to get out of it, I adopted these 3 steps!

STEP 1: EMPTY THE CLOSET
The first thing to do when you find yourself in the middle of a changing season is to create even more confusion in the room, completely emptying the wardrobe or piece by piece, compartment to compartment. Only then you will have a clearer view of the situation, the pieces of which you may want to get rid of because they are haven’t been worn for a few seasons, or because they are ruined and you will not put ever again on.

STEP 2: RE-ORGANIZE THE CLOSET
At this point, selected the pieces you want to keep, you just have to put them back neatly in the wardrobe. Looking on Pinterest and on the web in general, I found a series of life hacks, brilliant ideas and do-it-yourself to make your life easier, and also you closet.
To maximize space is useful:
Hang up as much as possible. Beware of hangers: if you have a medium to small wardrobe, prefer the subtle and metal ones. They really save space. Ideally, you should also hang shirts, sweatshirts and t-shirt ’cause so they are easier to find and they do not crease…

… If you really do not have space to hang them, there are also special techniques for folding shirts, sweaters and shirts. For super straight lines, you can invest in a tool like this:

Buy containers for belts, accessories, sunglasses, lingerie and anything else or acrylic shelf dividers to keep accessories and bags in order and vertically.

Use the roll-up method (I recommend it even for suitcases, as well as the drawers).

STEP 3: TRY TO KEEP YOUR CLOSET ORGANIZED
I’m still working on this point… Let’s say that my goal is to tidy my closet as much as possible. At least once a week! Actually there is one thing I already do and that helps the cause: before putting back clothes washed and ironed in my closet, I take some time ordering and even cleaning.

I hope you have found useful my ideas and my tips on how to organize the closet in the changing season… I would be curious to hear your own!
