My secret to a perfect skin
My secret to a perfect skin. Smooth, bright, soft and firmed. My skin has been transformed since I began to use in my ritual skincare an exclusive product based on marine algae, rich in nutritive and soothing substances. The secret is Crème de La Mer and today I reveal what it is and, above all, how and when I use it.
My secret to a perfect skin: Crème de La Mer
The name Crème de la Mer was not chosen by chance: its most important active principle, in fact, comes from the sea. It is called Macrocystis Pyrifera and is a brown seaweed that is found in the Pacific Ocean of North America and is collected from the surface of the sea and the beaches in full respect of the ocean. Combined with other natural ingredients such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, lecithin, vitamin B12, citrus oil, eucalyptus, grain germ, alfalfa and sunflower, creates the Miracle Broth concentrate at the base of every La Mer product.
It was the 1950s and Dr. Max Huber, a German physicist, had severely burned himself during one of his scientific experiments. To seek a remedy, he decided to retire to California and study the ocean. After 6,000 experiments in 12 years of testing, he succeeded in making a bio-fermentation process that in 3 months transformed seaweed and other pure ingredients into the miracle that would have transformed his skin. In honor of his muse, he called it Crème de La Mer.
Here is my secret for a perfect skin of the face and also of the body! I applied it every night before going to sleep and found that, in addition to deep moisturizing, it also has healing properties. It is no coincidence that it is called the miracle cream: it hydrates, suppresses irritations, redness and expression lines, dries the pimples that are formed during the sun exposure. During my experience in Cuba I also used it on the beach to soothe irritation from rubbing and a slight sunburn on the skin of my shoulders, and also to cure the erythema on my arms and legs which the mosquitoes repellent spray caused me. Then I also used it on the mosquitoes bites, which bolted me after having to stop using the repellent. In each of these situations the cream was amazingly surprising, so that every time I experienced a problem I chose to first try La Mer!
The consistency is thick, you have to take a very little amount of it and warm for a few moments between the fingertips to activate its ingredients and the effectiveness; it becomes soft, almost in a liquid form, easy to apply with a light pressure and a short massage on all the face and on every area of the body that requires its action.
After discovering the infinite skin soothing and healing properties during my trip to Cuba, I finally found a cream that I can’t live without!
If you are particularly sensitive to the environment, there is an extra reason to choose it: La Mer continues to use only hand-picked marine algae in a sustainable way, in keeping with Dr. Huber’s will. It also actively engages in the preservation of the seas, providing support to the major organizations involved in the health of the oceans and celebrating the World Oceans Day (held every year on June 8th).
This year the iconic white cream jar has been revisited to celebrate the launch of La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Foundation dedicated to supporting Marine Protected Areas, which aims to further intensify La Mer’s efforts to protect the oceans all over the world. The special Blue Heart Crème de la Mer packaging is available in limited edition only during the month of June!
I leave you to the other pictures, which were all shot in the wonderful and unspoilt Cayo Levisa beach! Soon on the blog will come out a new post about my recent trip to Cuba, stay tuned for it!
