Festive makeup for Christmas and New Year’s Eve & Dior Christmas party
If you follow me on my social media (you can find me on Instagram and Snapchat @lauracomolli), you’ll know that on Monday I was invited by Dior at the Chateau Monfort in Milan to attend their exclusive Christmas party! During the event I’m going to talk about it soon, I had the opportunity to participate to a personalized session of makeup. The brilliant international makeup artist Davide Frizzi realized for me a festive makeup, giving me also many tips on how to use Dior makeup products. First he explained that in the winter you should always change foundation and concealer, a shade down to brighten your face: so he evened out my complexion with a veil of Diorskin Star 010 Ivory foundation, and hid the dark circles under my eyes applying some drop of Diorskin Star Concelear in the same shade. He then made a slight contouring using Diorskin Nude Air Poudre Bronzant and lit the cheekbones with Diorific State Of Gold Compacte Poudre Lumiere D’Or (an illuminating powder with golden glow I spoke recently about HERE!). He completed my face applying a pink blush on my cheeks (Diorblush limited edition Christmas 2015). Once done the base, Davide started the eye makeup: I asked him to leave them as natural as possible, because of an unpleasant annoyance I feel after the operation I suffered last summer, every time I try to put makeup on my eyes. Davide explained to me how to enhance the shape of my eye shading on the outer corner of the eyelid a brown eye shadow, illuminating the inner corner of the eye with a light and shiny color and emphasizing my lashes with the volumizing mascara Diorshow New Look. He has finally brought the focus on the lips dressing them with a fuchsia lipstick to match the dress I was wearing: after having defined the shape with a lip pencil, he filled them with the new Diorific Mat 770 Fantastique. The result is a makeup look which I feel comfortable at 100% in and I find it enhances the natural beauty of my face!
Going back to Monday, I was invited to the Dior Christmas party at the hotel Chateau Monfort! A fairytale, dreamy lounge. With a glass dome as roof from which I could see the blue sky over Milan. It was set up with tables filled with golden delicious macarons, chocolates coated with precious gold crowns, cakes, croissants and pastries of all kinds. I couldn’t choose which one to try first, while enjoying a good cup of tea, to be chosen within a wide selection: I opted for spiced tea from Marraketch, I had never tasted before. The entire space was decorated for Christmas with real pine branches on the walls, decorated with pieces of parchment tied with strings of red wool. An entirely white piano dominated the center of the hall, hosting two giant lipsticks and one nail polish, all red, and then two kissing bunnies, the symbol of the hotel. The party was all about the iconic fragrance by Dior, J’adore: they made me choose my favorite bouquet (J’adore L’Absolu, with lingering notes of jasmine) and they engraved the bottle with my name! I also had the opportunity to stay in the night, where I was treated like a real princess. My room was a beautiful Superior, where nothing was left to chance. I had a great time during the breakfast, when everything was adorned with tiny white rabbits, heart-shaped back armchairs as in Alice in Wonderland and small macarons poufs. In the hotel there is also a SPA which, unfortunately, I have not been able to take advantage of. Highly recommended to spend a special night, if you are in Milan!
What do you think of my makeup for Christmas 2015? I hope you like it and look forward to reading your opinions!
Have a good Thursday!
