Cosmopolitan FashFest 2016: A weekend in London
From New York Fashion Week to London without going home! I could not miss the opportunity to take part at one of the coolest party of the year, organized by Cosmopolitan. FashFest 2016 was amazing: fashion shows, surprise guests, musical performances, free beauty treatments and a fun after-party… Here’s all that has happened in my weekend in London!
I had vague memories of London, as I went there only one time when I was fifteen years old, and despite the uncertain weather and the rain I have to admit that it has completely bewitched me… So much that I can not wait to go again! The first place I ever visited was the event venue, Old Billingsgate. A beautiful space on the Thames river behind the Shard (the skyscraper designed by Renzo Piano that became a symbol of London) that at sunset is even more impressive. Together with the Spanish Marta Carriedo, the French Chloe Insight, the German Beatrice Gutu and the Dutch Eleonora Wagtendonk I was invited from Italy to take part at the festival and to discover a preview of the big surprise organized by Cosmopolitan together with SEAT. The evening was presented by actress Emma Willis, who I have never seen before but who conquered me with her English humor! After the concert of the cute British singer Foxes, it was the turn of the fashion show itself. On the catwalk a lot of interesting looks to take inspiration from, with all the hottest trends of this fall! I was sitting in the front row for the live event on the Facebook channel of Cosmopolitan Italy! Did you see it?!
Last on the catwalk, under the ecstatic and incredulous eyes of all present, was a car. A world premiere, has made its entry the new city car of the Spanish car manufacturer created by women for women. It’s called SEAT Mii by Cosmopolitan and is a special series created by SEAT in cooperation with Kim St. Clair Bodden, editorial director of Hearst Magazines International (the group to which it belongs Cosmopolitan magazine) and the contribution of the magazine’s readers. In a bold hue, Violet, with contrasting details in champagne color… For those who love to be stylish also when driving!
The day after the Cosmopolitan FashFest 2016, under an almost continuous rain I visited London at the shelter of the SEAT Mii by Cosmopolitan… I had never had the experience of driving on the left: initially it was strange, but then I realized that everything was very intuitive. I absolutely loved the care of the interior, spacious and perfectly matching the body. A detail that struck me in particular are the headlights: they have a “eye-liner” shape, that emphasizes them just like makeup emphasizes your facial features!
Being in the city only for a couple of days I have chosen to visit its main monuments. I crossed the Tower of London, reaching the other side of the Thames: Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the London Eye in the distance. Despite the mist, the charm of those places was completely intact! I leave you to the photos!
