My shopping experience at Jo Malone London boutique in Turin
Walking through the streets for luxury shopping in New York, London, Milan and Paris I had noticed several times this elegant boutique, but I had never had the opportunity to come in and have a look. Not even in my city, where it opened in 2011… Finally this week I did it: here is the story of my shopping experience at Jo Malone London in Turin (Via Lagrange 4)!
As soon as I stepped into the entrance of the store, I found myself in a bright, quiet and comfortable environment, where you can feel the great attention to the decor even to the smallest detail… It’s a niche perfume brand wich is a real British excellence!
The whole Jo Malone London world revolves around fragrances and includes a 360 degrees selection of luxury products, ranging from colognes to items for home (scented candles and diffusers) and personal care (bath, body and hair).
Jo Malone London offers a service, unique in its kind, of choice, try and purchase of their products. The entire shopping experience, in fact, is aimed at finding the perfect fragrance for the user. On the center table of the boutique are placed the 20 iconic colognes, which form an arc divided into six main groups: Citrus, Fruity, Light Floral, Floral, Spicy e Woody. It goes from fresh fragrances to climb to the warmer: this is a very important concept for Jo Malone London, because if the customer finds that a fragrance is too fresh, he can modify it by adding a warmer note. Alongside the traditional fragrances are the intense fragrances, featuring a darker packaging and suitable for those who prefer stronger scents. The ingredients contained in the colonies are few but very valuable, so when they are mixed you get a unique fragrance! All this allows to create up to 700 different combinations that the customer can choose according to his own preferences!
I first experienced the art of Fragrance Combining: each fragrance can be worn alone or superimposed to other colonies or body products, for a unique result. I immediately fell in love with Tuberose Angelica, the queen of white flowers, which is located in the section of the intense floral fragrances. I combined with the woody scent called Wood Sage & Sea Salt which is wonderful, it has the scent of a day at sea! Result: a perfectly aligned colony with my taste and my personality. And then I let myself be enchanted by the scents for the home, sweet-smelling beeswax candles, diffusers, room and linen sprays and fabric… A real treat for a magical atmosphere!
If you can’t choose, no problem: you can try out various fragrances directly into the store. And not by simply spraying them into your wrists. Just ask the sweet Katia or Martina and you will get a hand and arm massage with the bubble bath of the favorite scent. Before being applied, the body wash is whipped so as to make it release its fragrance: it is more pleasant to massage, because it becomes like a cream. Using only the foam, aka the part that contains moisturizing agents, the skin is immediately softer. This service is completely free and is a real treat for the customer, as well as being important to create the fragrance tailored specifically to his needs. The shopping experience at Jo Malone London ends with the gift box: an elegant white box closed by a black satin bow. This year Jo Malone London is inspired by pantomime, a classic of the British tradition, which provide the opportunity for the diamond pattern of the decorations and the Christmas boxes. But there is more: during the Christmas season there will be in store some artists to decorate the gift boxes and make them more festive. In the coming weekend will alternate a screen printer that will affect the initials or the name on the caps of fragrances and on the lids of the candles. There will be an artist who will hand-decorate with stencil reproducing the Christmas motifs boxes and scented balls to hang on the Christmas tree!
The next events at Jo Malone London boutique in Turin (via Lagrange 4 – opening hours from 10am to 19pm) are Saturday, Dec. 17th for screen printing and Sunday, Dec. 18th for the Christmas tree balls! What are you waiting for?!
