Floral embroidered denim: the new trend for fall 2016
I haven’t published a post for a little while now (the last was the photo-diary of my holidays in Croatia, which you can read HERE in case you missed it)… They have been so hectic days that I hardly had time to realize where I was and what I did. I came back from holidays in the French Riviera, Monday and Tuesday of last week I was in Venice, the next day in Milan and the day after traveling to New York. But this is the life I dreamed and I will not complain about anything! I would just have more time to fully enjoy every moment. In particular, I thought of the experience that I have lived in Venice with Ballin, where I attended a special happy hour in their store near the beautiful Piazza San Marco wearing a pair of very special ballerinas, of the new collection, which you may have already seen on Instagram but I hope to show you soon also here on the blog!
I missed this space where my thoughts take shape and where I can share with you all that I wear! Now that I’m in New York for the first fashion week of this new Fashion Month, I can already tell you will be full of events and news, I can finally come back to writing. I am writing from my room at Park Central Hotel at the very end of this first day of NYFW, where I attended the fashion shows of Zimmermann, Nicole Miller and Tadashi Shoji.
Now let’s move to the real subject of this post: the jeans with floral embroidery you see me wearing in the pictures! This year mark the final return of the denim in all its shapes and colors, for occasions by day like for elegant evenings. The new trend for fall 2016 wants the denim to be embellished with embroideries: butterflies, animals, and especially flowers, many many flowers.
Here’s what I wore for my first day of New York Fashion Week! The protagonist of the look are these jeans with floral embroidery that I found one of the most interesting vintage boutiques in my town, Turin, which is called Lilli La Moda Ritrovata and is located in Via Cassini 7. They have regular waist, maybe a little lower, and long, wide legs, slightly flared at the bottom: a top model of the nineties called boot-cut that is coming back! I chose to match them with a maxi white t-shirt from the collection designed by Rihanna for the sports brand Puma, which I had the occasion to discover in preview a few days ago in Milan at the store Foot Locker located in Via Torino… It ‘s wonderful! I was very impressed by the quality of the cotton and its softness, so much that I would never take off! When it comes to wearing oversized tee-shirts, the secret is to shape them on your own body to enhance it to the fullest. I turned up their sleeves and tucked the t-shirt on the front at the waist. Finally I completed my look with shoulder bag and boots in marbled effect leather.
What do you think of this outfit?
I wish all of you a wonderful Saturday and give you an appointment tomorrow with a new post! In the meantime you can follow my day on Instagram and watch live videos from fashion shows on Instagram Stories @lauracomolli!
