How to wear velvet pants
It evokes that elegance, the refinement and the sumptuousness coming from a distant past. Velvet, we can say, will be the must-have fabric in the upcoming season. The designers have used it for dresses and tops with spaghetti straps, bomber jackets, A-line skirts, overalls and especially for pants. It is not easy to style them, indeed: usually you either love it or hate it. While doing vintage shopping I came across a pair of dark green velvet trousers and I literally fell in love with them! Pairing them was not difficult: I was thinking whether to mix them with denim or lace, but in the end I opted for a colored silk blouse without collar with and long sleeves, which I deliberately rolled up (after all, here in New York there is a lot of moisture in the air and you can feel the heat). I completed the outfit with other contrasting color details: the pink of my new Converse sneakers and inserts that decorate my bag.
This is the look that I wore for my fourth day of New York Fashion Week. An intense day began early in the morning in the backstage of the Jeremy Scott fashion show, where I could sneak a preview of the pieces of the collection and see make-up artists and Wella hairdressers at work on the beautiful models. In the afternoon then I went to see Zac Posen! Please check out all videos live from the shows on Instagram Stories and unseen pictures on Instagram @lauracomolli!
What do you think of my outfit? How would you pair corduroy pants?
Have a good Wednesday you all!
