24 hours in Zurich
24 hours in Zurich. Short break from the French Riviera (HERE you can read the post about my trip to Cap d’Ail, in case you’ve missed it) to fly a few hundred kilometers to the North, heading for Switzerland. Zurich, to be precise. 24 hours in the city, to attend the inauguration of the De Marquet pop-up shop inside the beautiful PKZ Woman store in downtown Zurich.
I was really happy to take part in this new project because I’ve been knowing for a very long time her creator, Raffaella. We met about 7 years ago in Berlin at the Bread & Butter Fair: I instantly fell in love with her Sal Y Limon bracelets, which quickly gained the heart of many of my readers. How many messages I have received asking me where to find them in Italy! After bringing the Sal Y Limon line to success and selling it, Raffaella is now ready for a new challenge. Made up of soft leather bags and stoles in lightweight cashmere, all made in Italy. And all I could do was fly to Zurich to support it!
24 hours in Zurich together with De Marquet
I landed in Zurich on a cool May morning and was welcomed by the kindly Franca, who immediately took me to the location of the event: the PKZ Woman store (located at Bahnhofstrasse 88, Zurich). Once I get off the taxi I strike the view of a terrace on the top floor, unusually full of plants and lights. I then find out to be heading right there for lunch: the place is called Hiltl and I really suggest it to you not only for the magical atmosphere but also for the variety of vegetarian food that you can choose!
Immediately after lunch I was accompanied to the Hotel to refresh and change before the event. I found a neighborhood of Zurich completely different from the shopping one. Pastel-colored buildings, a long river, the Limmat, populated by indomitable swimmers (who, they told me, did not give up their daily swimming even in January, thanks to the fact that their waters never freeze), clock towers of the churches of Fraumünster and St. Peter. Right between this last one Church and the river it is the hotel where I stayed: the Hotel Storchen. The room on the top floor with views across Zurich really left me breathless!
The temperature was cool but nice and I wore a total black look with two De Marquet accessories: the natural leather stole and the Night & Day bag. The latter has the peculiarity of having a detachable flap from the base (the one I chose is in beige, but it is also available in black or pink) and interchangeable with many others. The collection includes different fabrics and leather to suit all tastes!
The Night & Day bag is not the only De Marquet handbag model. When I went to the opening party of PKZ Woman I discovered many other models. The collection was launched last September in a first boutique (located in the capital, Bern) and at the same time on the e-commerce. This was the turn of Zurich!
The next day I woke up with the sun and took advantage of it to enjoy a good breakfast of fresh fruits and cereals directly from my room!
Then I went up the rooftop of the Hotel Storchen, to admire the view on Zurich from even higher!
My 24 hours in Zurich were about to end: unfortunately I did not have enough time to visit the rest of the city, but I hope to go back very soon!
I wish you a wonderful Thursday for all of you!
