Autumn in Rome
Autumn in Rome. Between the end of Milan Fashion Week and the beginning of the Paris one, I decided to take a break of a couple of days in my beloved Rome. Taking advantage of an invitation to attend a very special event, I organized a stay of a couple of nights in a wonderful Five Star Hotel of The Leading Hotels Of The World group (I had already spoken to you about it in regard of my trip to the Amalfi Coast, which you can read HERE). I leave you to my travel diary!
Autumn in Rome: My Weekend at Hotel Majestic Roma
The first stop on my arrival in the city was Hotel Majestic Roma. The address is Via Veneto 50, a well known and privileged position in the city, allowing you to reach Piazza di Spagna and Villa Borghese in a ten minutes walk . An address that immediately brings to mind the golden years of Italian cinema, that periodo called La Dolce Vita. Back then Via Veneto was a continuum of hotels and cafes where the most exclusive and unrestrained parties were held, and where the ones that were defined for the first time paparazzi used to take pictures of actors, directors, writers and singers. Many of these vintage photographs are hung in the corridor on the top floor of the beautiful 19th-century palace that houses the Hotel. I was so fascinated that I spent most of the afternoon admiring them!
The room was spacious and elegant, with old style furnishings combined with contemporary elements in perfect harmony. The characteristic I loved most? Definitely the stunning window directly on Via Veneto!
Going down to the first floor, passing through a charming frescoed salon you can access the magnificent terrace overlooking via Veneto. The happy hour there is one of the best in the city!
For dinner two dear friends, Fabrizio and Isabella, took me to a typical restaurant that is called Retro 02. We could catch up with each other and shared delicious dishes of Roman cuisine. I could not ask for more!
The next morning I woke up early to take some pictures before the invasion of tourists. On my way back I was very curious to admire the setting up of the breakfast at Hotel Majestic. Like in every other Leading I’ve stayed, I was not disappointed: even here was fabulous!
Here are the pictures I mentioned above. Thanks to the central position of Hotel Majestic Roma, in a ten minute walk I reached the staircase of Trinità dei Monti and Piazza di Spagna, and from there I went on to the Trevi Fountain… Every time its beauty leaves me speachless!
Autumn in Rome is pleasant and the temperature makes you want to buy the biggest ice cream cone. My favorite address is Venchi in Via della Croce: you recognize this gelateria right away because there is a flower shop on the other side of the street that is an explosion of colors!
When I got back to Hotel I got ready for the last night in town. The appointment was in via delle Botteghe Oscure 33, where Hendrick’s Gin invited me to open the Chambers Of The Curious. An amazing experience where we have been shown what lies in the most hidden meanders of the brain, from the temporal lobe to the occipital one, and how to enhance them with the treatments given by the doctor; all flavored with mind reading and magic.
We are now arrived at the end of diary! I hope as always that my addresses can be useful for you.
I’ll see you soon on the blog with a new post… In the meantime I will be more active on Instagram, where I post daily photos and Stories!
